Service Transition Lead - Malmesbury - 6-month contract

Working in a DevOps environment the Service Transition Lead provides cross functional analysis for the transition of Group IT Delivery of projects. Reporting to the Release and Service Transition Manager and supporting the program, they work with Release Leads, Market Leads, Program Managers, Project Managers and Production Service Owners to ensure deployment windows and service requirements are fully understood, clearly communicated, and any associated risks are captured and mitigated prior to production deployment. They work with Production Service Owners to provide an effective bridge between the Project Delivery and Support Team Functions, ensuring Service Owners are ready to accept and support new changes, and post implementation lessons are correctly captured and managed appropriately with process owners


Key skills and Experience required:
· Strong change, release and service transition skills, in a continuous delivery environment
· Ability to build, implement and direct service transition principles that meet the quality and timescale objectives for delivery into production
· Excellent knowledge of risk management and risk mitigation
· A proven back ground in change management, release management or service transition
· Accredited professional e.g. ITIL or similar
· Experience of operating or consulting as an agent for change in a complex, multi-project environment
· Experience managing change or service transition processes for large multi-national organisations
· 3+ years experience in implementing and shaping change, release or service management strategies and processes
· Proven experience of leading, coaching and mentoring people in change, release or service transition principles
· Strong interpersonal and team building skills

Desirable skills and experience:
· Knowledge of programme and project management methods including DSDM / Agile PM and PRINCE2
· Knowledge of Confluence / JIRA / ITSM / ServiceNow
· Digital, commercial and CRM experience ((url removed), SAP ECC, SAP Hybris, AEM, Digital platforms)
· Experience of working for a consultancy or other professional services organisation
· Experience with Agile software development methodologies is highly desired
· Significant project lifecycle experience in multiple disciplines such as QA, business analysis, change management, release management, project management and systems training
