Project Manager

Role Profile

To deliver Infrastructure/Enabling Works projects on time and within budget, with attention to safety and quality, whilst enhancing our reputation with external clients and work colleagues. Where required, to act as the bid manager working with the pre-construction Tender team and then to go on to deliver the successful tendered project

Health, Safety & Environment

* Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies

* Implement the relevant requirements of the Management Systems and Environmental Management System within their area of responsibility

* Ensure that their staff receive or have access to copies of the Environmental Policy and are kept informed of environmental developments and issues

* Ensure that the Environmental Policy and appropriate parts of Environmental Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce, particularly to those engaged on activities that have been identified as likely to have a significant environmental impact

Your responsibilities

* Act as bid management leader, with the view to mobilising and delivering the successful tendered project,

* Safe, effective and right first time delivery of the specific contract's requirements

* Resource works appropriately,

* Work with Commercial team to procure supply chain partners,

* Promote, enforce and adhere to the company's Health & Safety Policy and Procedure

* Training and development of supervisory and operational employees to ensure the accurate availability of competent staff

* Make line managers aware of roles, responsibilities,

* Develop and maintain relationships with relevant client representatives, supply chain and local authorities

* Provision of reports and management information to senior management and client

* Overall responsibility for project budget, costs, cash flow and margin,

* Manage contractual issues arising with client and sub-contractors,

* Produce and own contract programme,

Your Qualities

* As a minimum, the individual should be able to demonstrate strong technical knowledge and experience of constructing complex, fast track, civil engineering projects to a value of GBP25m.

* Evidence of Technical knowledge and experience in:-

* Highway/Rail related construction methods,

* Experience of constructing new structures including retaining walls and bridges,

* Delivering complex, fast track projects on time and to budget,

* Dealing with a large number of stakeholders and managing their expectations,

Your Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

* Relevant Civil Engineering Qualifications - minimum HNC level

* Experience of running civil engineering projects up to GBP25m

* Self-motivated, strong management skills,
