Service Desk Analyst – Inside of IR35

Service Desk Analyst – My client is currently looking for a customer service orientated Service Support Analyst to join their team for an initial 3 month period. This role will be a Service Desk Support Role.

Service Desk Support will be the an initial point of contact for IT related issues and information requests. As part of the Service Desk Analysis team you will ensure that the agreed service levels are met and that issues are involved and were applicable passed onto the next level of support for resolution.

The Service Desk Analyst will have the following experience.

Service Desk Support Analyst

Strong customer service skills.

Logging IT issues with users and ensuring they are responded in a timely manner.

Passing issues from 1st line support to and liaising with 2nd/3rd line support.

Keeping users informed of the progress on their issue.

Your responsibilities:

  • To ensure all hospitals within the region receive prompt support, guidance and onsite support as required to resolve all issues raised
  • To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems and across a range of software applications
  • To assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon
  • To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes to restore service to the user/site as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary
  • To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT helpdesk system
  • To ensure staff raise any request via the IT helpdesk system before commencing any support
  • To install and configure new IT equipment.
  • To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware
  • To resolve incidents with printers, copiers, and scanners
  • To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner
  • Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organisation
  • To be a highly motivated team player with the skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Be willing to attend internal training as necessary to keep up to date with the latest technology and internal system processes
  • To work within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • To attend training courses as identified and agreed for appropriate development

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • BSc (Good general level of education. A-levels or equivalent, with GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics

  • ECDL (or equivalent)
  • Experience/Knowledge Previous experience of working in an IT support role
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows client operating systems as well as various software packages including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent IT skills and computer literacy
  • Previous Experience within a customer service role
