ITap Group Developer Vacancy - Full Stack Engineer

Stack: Node.js, React, MongoDB, TypeScript, Meteor, NativeScript, Angular

ITAP Group is both a successful online media business and digital payments firm at an exciting growth phase.

We are looking for a very keen full stack developer who is willing to learn in a fast-paced environment in a close knit team with shared responsibility for the company’s goals.

The full stack developer carries responsibility working on a large range of projects for the parent company. The in house sites have over 100,000 unique users per month.

The growth forecasts behind the platform over the coming year mean there will be plenty of greenfield and growth work. The stack is comprised of:

Node.js, React, MongoDB, TypeScript, Meteor, NativeScript, Angular

The firm has an established reputation in the market and a unique product. The internet is our business so we like to keep on top of the latest technology in terms of both UI and ecommerce. You will be working on a high demand website and have a key role with the Managing Director’s ear. There will certainly be exposure to API development, as well as front end work using React.

The successful candidate also has the chance to transition between web and mobile app development.

Required, desirable and nice to have skills and exposure (the below also gives you an idea of stack):

Required:

  • Good knowledge of Node.js
  • Good knowledge of React
  • HTML / CSS / SASS
  • TypeScript (should also be comfortable with vanilla JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of MongoDB (or a similar NoSQL document database)
  • Comfortable with Linux (daily usage and system administration)

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Meteor.js
  • GraphQL (Apollo)
  • MySQL
  • Exposure to NativeScript or React Native
  • Angular (v4+)

Nice to have

  • PHP
  • AngularJS (1.x)

Ideally we are looking for a bright junior to mid-level developer with good fundamentals in software development and the ability to learn fast.

You must be hands on and have strong experience in the stack but not always in time served. You will also be a techie motivated by technology. In return you will be rewarded both financially and in other ways by a business that prides itself on delivery and family attitudes.

Once up to speed, the successful candidate will carry responsibility over an area of the business and work with other members of the company to achieve its objectives. This will involve bringing new ideas to the table and and carrying them through to successful implementation, then maintaining and improving them based on user interaction.

We are based in London Vauxhall in a new vibrant office space. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with an open dress code.

Node.js, React, MongoDB, TypeScript, Meteor, NativeScript, Angular

The salary available is £30,000 to £45,000 depending upon experience, however, if you are unsure if it is for you, it's always worth a quick conversation so please apply and we'll call you as soon as we can.

GetAgent, the UK’s leading estate agency comparison site, is a rapidly growing prop-tech startup. Proud partners of Which?, our aim is to provide a transparent and data-driven way for homeowners to choose the best agent to sell their most valuable asset.

We encourage each other to find fresh and dynamic ways to reach our goals, and when everyone has a shared purpose, it’s really easy to get motivated. This culture of growth and progress has allowed GetAgent to flourish and offer employee progression at an unprecedented rate.

We have guided our staff to become Team Leaders and Heads of Departments, and pride ourselves in having created a positively challenging work space for the budding mind. As we continue to expand, and advertise (you may have seen us on Channel 4, or YouTube) we consistently strive to encourage staff development and provide equal opportunities to all.

GetAgent is disruptive, diverse and dynamic.

What you’ll do

With more and more home sellers using the GetAgent platform, we are looking for intelligent and resilient Business Development Managers to support our growth.

One of the ways we help estate agents is to connect them with valuations around the country. Your role will be to liaise with agents to help create new business opportunities and build their portfolio.

You’ll be talking to senior decision makers on a day-to-day basis. And, your market analysis will be a key influence in the growth of the best high street estate agents across the UK.

On a daily basis you’ll be solving problems, educating agents about our platform and it’s potential, and use industry knowledge to up-sell and handle objections.

Monday - Friday - 9am-6pm - Old Street

Pitch Perfect

Though we have processes in place, we have given the team ample opportunity to add their own spin on things.

We will provide you with all the tools and training to ensure a smooth call almost every time but ultimately we encourage you to develop your own approach and create your own success story.

In addition to an in-depth 2 day training programme provided by our Head of Sales, you’ll have one-to-one mentorship meetings once a week to discuss your own development and growth.

What we need from you:

Intelligence – You don’t have to be Einstein, but we’re looking for someone with the ability to successfully assess a situation and conduct valuable research.

Resilience - Handling and overcoming adversity is an important part of this role. You’ll love helping others and be able to use client criticism to improve.

Personality - We’re looking for someone who has the innate ability to spark and maintain meaningful conversations with clients and your colleagues.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Experience in a telephone sales role dealing with senior decision makers.
  • Negotiation and objection handling experience.
  • Experience in the UK property market.

What’s in it for you?

  • A clear progression structure mapped out for you – we always aim to promote from within and advancement is based on performance, not time.
  • An amazing culture - no matter which team you are on, you can grab a bite to eat with anyone in the company. Our office is fuelled by honesty, integrity, and of course, some laughter!
  • Apart from learning from some (really) talented people you can dive head first into one of the largest industries in the world  - we pride ourselves on being data-driven and using industry knowledge to better our processes.

Extras:

  • Great salary with regular reviews.
  • Weekly one-to-ones with a mentor.
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays!).
  • Quarterly Office Socials
  • Private health insurance
  • Employer pension contributions (provided through Nest)

We will move quickly for the right person, so get your CV over ASAP!

We are Continuum Industries. A seed-stage startup developing tools for engineers to create better infrastructure. Our tools help to design infrastructure such as railways, roads, pipelines or power lines. The final value of our product is that it helps to get clean water from its source to your hot shower, packets of data from a data centre to your computer and electricity from a wind farm to your light bulb.

We were founded in June 2018 with initial angel funding from Skyscanner's Gareth Williams. Since then, we have closed our first big enterprise customers and we're now gearing up to openly launch our product to the world, but we can't cope with the work on our own.

Currently, we're a crew of ten and we're looking to expand our engineering and product team to develop and launch the fully standalone version of our optimisation engine.

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for software engineers to expand our ability to work with more customers and scale the product, both in terms of features and reliability. The role will helicopter between working on the core of the algorithm, deployment and maintenance of the optimiser to the cloud as well as development of internal tools used to better understand the performance of the optimisation engine.

LOCATION:

CodeBase in Central Edinburgh with opportunities to move to London if of interest in the future.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR FAMILIARITY WITH:

  • Python
  • Software development principles
  • Testing
  • Versioning
  • Go
  • Deployment of software to a cloud platform
  • Passing familiarity with databases (SQL and noSQL)

However, we firmly believe that any (and/or all) of these can be learned on the job.

WE THINK YOU WOULD ENJOY THIS ROLE IF YOU:

  • Get bored easily if you’re working on the same thing for too long
  • Enjoy deploying production code
  • Like working with a large degree of autonomy

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Decent salary, share ownership options, pension and office coffee served by the CEO
  • Ownership of your work and lots of independence
  • Flexible working
  • Personal training budget
  • Exposure to big engineering companies and the startup world
  • We also don’t really count the days on annual leave
