Lead Java Engineer // £80,000 - £110,000 // Liverpool Street, London

Pre-IPO start-up, Fintech, solving some of the most challenging and interesting problems around data to cater for the likes of Monzo and Iwoca.

You will be joining one of the fastest growing Fintech startups in London - already past the point of scrambling for funding and clients.

Working with the CTO you’ll be evolving their SaaS platform to continue disrupting the financial world. You will be involved in the design, build, and deployment of your code straight through to production in a TDD and Clean Code focused team.

If disrupting an industry, working with like-minded engineers and building reliable codebase excites you then do not hesitate!

Requirements:

  • Commercial experience of Java, Spring Boot and Microservices
  • Understanding of OOP, functionality and concurrency with Relational Databases, NoSQL and Graph data storage
  • Knowledge of Frontend with ES6+ JavaScript libraries (ideally React)
  • Experience working at Scale on resilience, reliability and vision of platforms
  • TDD, Pair Programming and Refactoring mindsets
  • Cloud Architecture with AWS including EC2, Lambda, S3

Bonus points:

  • Knowledge around containers like Docker / Kubernetes / Terraform
  • Understanding of Cloud Security
  • Any knowledge on AWS Athena, Data Lakes or Google BigQuery
  • Java Struts and JSP (ability to strangle them out)

IT Systems Support - 3 Months - Winchester - £313/Day Inside IR35

We are seeking an IT Systems Support and Development Analyst for our client based in Winchester. This is an initial 3-month contract, paying up to £313/Day Inside IR35.

This role is IR35 - Due to the service of the role this will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

As the IT Systems Support and Development Analyst you will be supporting and developing their Service Management Tool (ivanti). The Service Management tool underpins the Service Management and Service Delivery capabilities to enable the initiatives and business of the broader County Council and its Partners.

Role Profile:

  • Troubleshoot service desk tool issues effectively, including detailed investigation and analysis
  • Fault diagnosis and resolution on incidents and problems
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to analyse and resolve issues and develop product
  • Escalate application incident issues accordingly to ensure priority items that cause service disruption are investigated, communicated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Escalate to IT Systems Infrastructure Team for any issues that are either not diagnosable or not resolvable by support team
  • Document faults and recommending improvements
  • Update and creating fields within the object tables
  • Provide input into the technical design to ensure production of processes that deliver the needs of the business
  • Deliver technical requirements to develop the tool - analysis, design, estimating, development, testing and implementation
  • Support the wider technology team with projects, providing subject matter expert knowledge, ensuring smooth handover to business as usual operations and supporting business adoption
  • Look for opportunities to improve the service management tool, process improvements and automation
  • Develop management information reports and assisting with the integration of back office systems
  • Provide guidance and input into roadmap of the service management tool
  • Maintain the Service Management system to the levels set out in the IT Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
