My client is looking for a contractor for a role in the UAE. They are looking for a Big Data (Hadoop) Administrator to start on the 23rd March 2020 for 5 to 10 weeks.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in the Hadoop arena and there is also an option for a permanent role in this area of skill set.

Role purpose: Hadoop and Application Administration

Technical abilities to provide support, including, but not limited to the following activities:

• Support architecture design

• Provide advice and guidance in relation to design and architecture requirement

• Review of High-Level Design concepts and support Low Level Design creation.

• Create, Change and Manage Communications Matrix Documents (Network Routing and Firewall)

• Hadoop Stack (Cluster Management)

• Hadoop Stack (House Keeping)

• Hadoop Stack and Related Application Administration.

• Out of Hours Support to Project as and when required.

skills required:

• Working knowledge of key Hadoop components, such as: Yarn, Hive, Spark, Impala, HBase, Zookeeper and Oozie.

• Knowledge and/or experience with other distributed technologies such as Cassandra, ElasticSeatch and Kafka would also be desirable.

• Knowledge and/or experience with Cloud Technology/Deployments would be useful.

My client, a global Digital Services and Digital Platforms provider, are looking for a number Cloud Migration Architects to help deliver secure, reliable and cost-effective migrations of services to public cloud. Ensuring the successful design of cloud based platforms which are fit-for-purpose, aligning to industry best-practices and easily maintained after migration. As the Cloud Migration Architect you will be responsible for establishing a cloud migration capability. Whilst working closely with peers to develop policy and standards, share knowledge and mentor those around you.

Essential experience:

Desirable experience:

  • Expertise in utilising the latest migration approaches and technologies including the containerisation of services
  • Proven experience being accountable for major migration projects
  • Has pro-actively developed business across an account with sales and account managers
  • Able to prioritise their time across multiple major projects
  • Actively shares their thoughts and views on technology
  • Has participated in technology communities
  • Expertise in using multiple public cloud providers

I am currently working with one of the UK's leading cyber security consutacnies who are looking for someone to come on board and lead their practice that focusses on governance, risk & compliance in the information security space. You will be working alongside some of the brightest individuals within the security world, on some of the most interesting projects globally.

  • Leading the information security risk & compliance team, workign with clients on projects centred around ISO27001, PCI DSS, NIST, Cobit, SOC2 etc
  • Advising clients on their cyber security strategy, governance & risk management
