Project Manager - Fibre Build
Salary £90,000 base plus bonus, health / benefits.
Based in Central London

The Opportunity

Would you like to get involved in on of the most exciting programme of works in the UK that is going to revolutionise the daily lives of commuters in London?

This project is to roll out 4G mobile connectivity across the underground sections of the London Underground network and while platform access is available for Wi-Fi at the moment, this network build and deployment programme will allow that access to data when on the move in the tunnels so is one of the biggest commuting game changers for many a year.

The Role
You'll be the Project Manager responsible for the design, deployment and construction of a FTTX network that will be deployed on a Transport for London Programme. You'll be working for the network owner and builder and services will then be available to the ISP's and operators on a wholesale basis.

As PM, you'll own the build and deployment and as such will come from that fibre build background within a NRSWA and CDM regulated environment. Managing both field engineers and also contract partners, you'll be the main operational person responsible for the delivery of this multi-million / multi-year programme that is going to have a huge amount of visibility around London for both commuters and also from a political perspective and it is likely to be one of the most anticipated technology programmes that the capital has seen in many years - which is going to create a huge amount of credibility for the successful project team.

Reporting to the COO, you'll support with procurement, vendor management and effective project management work in partnership with the key supplier leadership team to ensure adherence to all regulatory and construction standards required by TfL and white SHEQ being of paramount importance, you'll run a tight ship in conjunction with the H&S function to ensure that safe working practices are at the forefront of our operations every day.

This is going to be a rapid ramp up and won't be for the faint hearted. You'll be joining the multi-year / multi-million value project before the go live date so structure, process and methodology need to be in place across all key suppliers, materials and components as due to tight timescales, there isn't going to be a huge amount of leeway when it comes to delivery meaning everything needs to go as smooth as possible in the planning stage to ensure the project is running on track from the outset.

Who are you?
A telecoms fibre network build project manager and likely a known face around the FTTX or network build sector. We've got flexibility by way of coming from the ISP, operator or contractor but you need to be able to point to a track record of success and someone who has delivered when it comes to fibre based, network roll out projects and if you can also point to experience of working on LUL or TfL then even better.

Experience of delivering projects in Central London is crucial due to the unique logistical challenges as this project is both on the underground but will also include a significant amount of streetworks. This is a senior role, as the attractive salary suggests so we are looking for someone that has lead projects of similar value and reputation but would be more than happy to discuss.

Formal methodology such as Prince 2 or PMP would be assumed.

Package to include KPI driven annual bonus, matched pension upto 10%, 5 x death in service, Income protection and private medical health care.
