Head of Procurement - Telecoms Networks
Salary £90 - £100k base plus bonus, health / benefits.

Based in Central London

The Opportunity

Would you like to get involved in on of the most exciting programme of works in the UK that is going to revolutionise the daily lives of commuters in London?

This project is to roll out 4G mobile connectivity across the underground sections of the London Underground network and while platform access is available for Wi-Fi at the moment, this network build and deployment programme will allow that access to data when on the move in the tunnels so is one of the biggest commuting game changers for many a year.

This role is working for the client and network owner.

The Role
You'll be the Head of Procurement, and reporting to the FD, you'll have overall accountability for the end to end Supply Chain Planning, Vendor Selection, Sourcing and Material Management for all areas within the business providing strong commercial execution.

Vendor identification and selection is a key point, and working for the client, you'll be making sure that the selected partners offer best value for money, alongside capability and also fall into line with the ethical policy of this company - viewed as the market leader on a global basis by way of the design, deployment of wireless technology across metropolitan transport networks.

This is going to be a rapid ramp up and you'll be joining the multi-year / multi-million value project before the go live date so structure, process and agreements need to be in place across all key suppliers, materials and components as due to tight timescales, there isn't going to be a huge amount of leeway when it comes to delivery meaning everything needs to go as smooth as possible when it comes to the logistical and contractual side of the programme.

As HOD, you are directly responsible for processes, negotiations, contract management and relationship management for all products and services required across the business and as a new project, the advantage is that you will be building a supply chain function from scratch which is customer centric and consistently delivers best in class approach and you won't be faced with legacy agreements or attitudes meaning everything put in place should be driven and determined by you to ensure the best policy efficiency in line with project objectives linked to construction and maintenance deliverables

Who are you?
A senior level procurement professional, ideally from a telecoms network background.

Experience of working on and around projects associated with rail, TFL or LUL a distinct advantage and specifically by way of engineering or technology projects into that sector.

This is going to be a rapid growth, scale up business that has the advantage of being able to call upon a proven track record by way of similar projects across the World - however, that ability to play a major part in building and shaping your function quickly is going to be paramount. While it isn't strictly essential that you have built a function from scratch previously, the ability to keep a cool head in a rapid deployment, project environment would be essential but that equals a lot of opportunity in our opinion to really influence moving forward.

Package to include KPI driven annual bonus, matched pension upto 10%, 5 x death in service, Income protection and private medical health care.
