You’ll have a broad range of responsibilities, including;

  • A Government Security Clearance at DV level
  • An up to date electrical qualification (City & Guilds 2382-15 or equivalent and City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing Course or equivalent)
  • Experience of the installation, testing, commissioning and fault finding complex Audio Visual installations including video conferencing facilities and IPTV systems
  • Work experience in a MOD environment and compliance with MOD Safe Systems of Work (JSP375, Vol 3) and MOD CIS installations (JSP604, Leaflet 4800)
  • Have completed all the C&G 3666 (or equivalent) modules for installation of Fibre Optic and Copper cables associated with data networks
  • Have attended and passed the MoD CIDA course
  • Experience of working to Critical Engineering Risk Management protocols

We're looking for;

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Electrical / Electronic / Communications Infrastructure field (including recognised apprenticeship and supplementary formal training)
  • Experience of AV, VTC and IPTV systems
  • Experience of the installation, test and commissioning of media converters and other data network hardware
  • Excellent team working and problem solving capabilities
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance of DV level

The successful candidate will have been continually resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to pass the required security clearance on site.

The data scientist will be responsible for creating and incrementally improving data products, focused on particular customer outcomes, during the early discovery and design phases. Being a key member of an agile product team, the junior data scientist will closely collaborate with business domain experts to understand raw data and its business context then apply data science techniques to develop valuable, actionable insights, algorithms or models which will be tested with customers.

The data scientist will be comfortable in applying data science techniques such as data mining, statistical and cluster analysis to large data sets using cloud computing resources, big data frameworks and open-source packages. They will understand both the theory and have practical experience building accurate predictive models using a range of machine learning algorithms (e.g. regression, decision tree, k-means).
