About the role
This is the opportunity to join a dynamic team supporting c800 staff at a time of great change in the organisation and the opportunity to learn. You will lead the Deskside Support, 2nd line team in providing effective service support and exceptional customer service. This role is 50% technical hands on support and 50% management, you will be managing a team of three Deskside Analysts.

About you

  • It is essential that you are ITIL certified
  • Proven track record in a service management role in an ICT department
  • Demonstrable experience of ICT support and break fix
  • Experience of incident, problem and change management processes and the tracking of such using ITSM software tools 
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and organise own workload and the workload of others to meet deadlines and performance targets.
  • Strong focus on customer service where the user/stakeholder experience was key.

You will research and ensure we are trying new and appropriate things from a testing perspective. You will be reporting directly into the CTO, whilst liaising with the Head of Engineering and Chief Architect to help drive the testing function forward.

Focus Areas;

Provide strategic direction and coaching to the QA team

Design, manage and maintain all Quality Assurance practices, standards, methodologies and metrics.

Drive automation framework development forward and promote the use of automation testing to maximize manual testing efficiency

Maintain product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures, collaborating to develop new product and engineering designs, development and training methods

Utilise fact and data-driven metrics and communicates results, promotes cross-functional communication and ensures adequate information flow within the tech team

In partnership with Heads of Engineering; recruit, retain and develop great talent to be an asset to the QA team

Stay up to date on current and future software developments in order to ensure the delivery and maintenance of industry best practices in QA.

To be successful in the this;

Strong technical experience in functional/non-functional/manual/automation testing

Experience in implementing and shaping QA strategies & policies

Experience in mentoring and coaching QA Engineers in an agile environment

Comfortable with changes and solving problems
