Java Engineers, FinTech Enterprise Projects, Poole, £45-70k DoE, Scale-up business, fluid modern tech/tools.

Java Engineers (FinTech Scale-Up)
Poole, Dorset
£45000 - £70000+ Equity Options

Please note my client cannot offer VISA sponsorship for this position.

Your new company
I'm engaged on an exclusive project to recruit a number of Java specialists for a scale-up business in Poole, Dorset. It's a technology first organisation with a unique proposition that can improve people's lives, utilising Big Data and Real Time Streaming technologies amongst other areas. These roles are part of an ambitious but realistic growth plan and, with their offices commutable from most parts of Dorset.

The company is seeking hungry, ambitious individuals with excellent knowledge of modern server-side Java development and an interest in related bleeding edge tools/concepts.

Your new role
You'll be creating complex throughput services where optimisation is critical, and you will be involved across the full stack lifecycle up to production, rather than being kept in a silo. There is a shared belief that developers should gain an appreciation of the whole business and understand the customers journey.

You'll be working with some of the best technical minds in this field locally, running a mature adoption of Agile with a truly progressive build pipeline moving towards automation that is ahead of the competition. In fact, they've had great success in attracting senior developers from some of the household tech employers in the local area.

Much of the work is greenfield and you'd be placed into a stream team using a shared Github enterprise to build out the codebase. It's a fun, sociable work environment where work life balance is not an abstract culture

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a deep core knowledge of Java 8 and the related stack underneath this and will be able to fluidly move onto new version of the language.

It's important you subscribe to clean coding principles and have a test first mentality, TDD, continuous integration and JIRA are heavily used in house.

Multiple open source libraries are utilised and looking at the UI layer any knowledge of React would serve you well, as will an appreciation of DevOps, Microservices and the automation pipeline.

What you'll get in return
There is flexibility in the working hours and 2 days work from home is not uncommon. The company is also looking at a more corporate benefits package to increase pension contributions and smaller benefits such as cycle to work scheme. The main non-salaried attraction is around getting involved in a cutting-edge business at a pivotal point and being rewarded with a share of the company profits through an EMI scheme.
