Hi! We’re Mendü, the journaling companion for anyone who is tired of hearing “white men are the ones discriminated against.”

At best, racial discrimination is annoying as **** - at worst, it can take a huge toll on your health. That’s not how it should be! This is why we’re creating an app + community so that we can rise together. Our mission, is to create inclusive spaces, where womxn of colour have the tools to decompress though the hard times & are empowered to speak up in impactful ways.

To get there, we’re starting with womxn of colour. This is because: 1) looking through the research, their need for us is the most acute; 2) so far, we know them best; and 3) our needs are a very real thing.

We’re an early stage company supported by Red Bull, UBS & others. You can read more about us here  https://r29.co/3cqj7h6

Now, we’re looking for someone who wants to experience seeing a startup through launch. Probably a creative activist early in their career / currently studying, who is interested in building a media brand from the ground up, as we develop our products to launch to consumers. No previous experience necessary, but you need to be willing to learn and have at least one spare afternoon a week to hang with us in our office in Southwark. The position is not paid, but we cover travel costs.

Problems we hope you can help us solve...

  • Translate Mendü’s brand to social media. Our brand is being actively shaped and defined by each new post, conversation, and story. Create meaningful relationships between a young brand and its followers online.
  • Be our voice online, but also the voice of our customers within the company – act as the gatekeeper of the product, and how it can best serve our users.

You're great because you're...

  • Mission-driven: you want to do something you believe in, not just something you’re good at. Purpose matters to you.
  • Obsessed with the message: you know that words have an impact.
  • User-centred: you place customers at the heart of everything you do.
  • Enjoying the process of writing and journaling in your day to day life.
  • Into Maya Angelou & Toni Morrison ++
