Our client specialises in developing software in the life sciences sector. The software is deployed in the cloud with a powerful database at the back-end with both Windows and Linux infrastructure to oversee.

They are looking for a technically skilled individual who can offer lead operations/devops engineer experience/knowledge, skills, etc., with this impressive company’s technology - which is deployed in the cloud. The role is a combination of devops and system operational engineering.

You will need the following skills to help you deliver a successful outcome: -

  • Deploying and maintaining servers for both internal and cloud use
  • Experience with cloud platforms e.g. AWS/Azure and/or Big Data
  • Practical knowledge / experience of devops
  • Ideally experienced in Linux / MacOS / Windows configuration / administration (physical/virtual/cloud)
  • Python/Java and ideally some front end coding skills
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Kubernetes, Puppet, etc.
  • A good understanding and experience of network protocols, firewall, security
  • Web server and proxy configuration
  • Technical lead experience / coaching new/junior staff
  • Problem solving and good people skills

Experience of ISO27001, HIPAA, or similar infosec standards. ITIL qualified is an advantage in an application for this role. The role does require occasional on call work (rota).

We are looking for Network Delivery Managers for our expanding client within the Telecoms Infrastructure sector. 

Network Delivery Managers are responsible for the delivery of their respective PON’s in compliance with H&S and Quality standards whilst meeting Customer SLA’s.

You will lead a team of supervisors / engineers and contractors where appropriate. You will monitor the delivery and recording of health and safety audits and quality audits. Appraisals and performance management will be conducted with all Network Engineers.

You will also deliver appraisals and performance management of Supervisors & Engineers. Network Delivery Managers are responsible for overseeing and ensuring both Supervisors & Engineers have appropriate certification and equipment to fulfil their duties within Health and Safety regulations and their workmanship is of appropriate standard.

They will be responsible for auditing such certification and equipment to ensure compliance with appropriate Health and Safety legislation. The role includes liaising with both the client, customers, third parties and interdepartmental teams as appropriate, to ensure compliance. This may include meetings with local authorities and onsite meetings providing technical expertise.

You will monitor urgent/high-profile customer escalations to ensure the satisfactory conclusion to the issue. It is the responsibility of the Network Delivery Manager to maintain the client relationship. To ensure understanding and consistency of the working relationship is maintained always.

Responsibilities

Competencies 

NRSWA/ CSCS certification

Proven experience in the field with a thorough understanding of the network

Strong organisational skills, with an ability to multitask and prioritise work load

Ability to interpret data and flow charts

Understanding of risk management and quality

Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

Working knowledge of IT and Microsoft products including Excel

Experience working with design schematics, duct diagrams and works instructions - Preferably hold existing BT accreditations or have previous BT experience
