Software Engineer

Russell Taylor are actively recruiting for a Software Engineer to work in Rotherham, Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will develop our Client's safety system verification application product improving and supporting its future development.

This is an interesting opportunity which would suit career orientated, self-motivated individuals who would like to develop their career and build a team.


Duties:
* Assist or lead in the development and maintaining of software products
* Training and development for software products
* Assist in the development of Cybersecurity and Digital services
* Work as part of a project team delivering control system projects in the Power, Renewables and Oil and Gas sectors
* Able to develop and formulate Functional Design, Software Design and Test Specifications to meet project requirements
* Working within the project time scales, independently formulate and develop the software to meet the functional requirements
* To be involved in all stages of turnkey projects from enquiry to commissioning
* Occasionally to meet critical project timescales working flexible hours may be required
* Work in customers facilities may be required

Skills:
* Knowledge of database design and maintenance
* Ability to work independently and achieve objectives within the project timescales
* Ability to analyse user requirements and formulate a solution
* Ability to learn new technologies
* Possess strong IT skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office and being able to produce written documents of a good standard
* Possess good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
* Have the ability to manage time and organise workload to meet deadlines
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Possess a passport and a clean driving licence

Qualifications / Experience:
* Degree in Computing Science or related subject
* System Platform or Similar SCADA Experience
* Programming experience in C++, C# , VB.NET or equivalent
* System Network / Architect

Desirable:
* Communication driver development
* Experience with Automation Systems PLC and SCADA
