The purpose of the role is to add technical support to the work of the team, improving systems and compliance, and also to project manage the brand's new product development program, working with third party suppliers in creating new products. This will involve working alongside the Commercial Team to formulate new products through ideation, kitchen samples through to factory scale production.

The role will also include the ongoing monitoring and compliance of third party manufacturers.

Key accountabilities:

  • Project manage the NPD process, from kitchen samples through to factory sign off
  • Ensuring product safety and labelling compliance
  • Ongoing product quality, checking and testing incoming stock from exiting suppliers
  • Keeping up to date technical records and accreditations of third party suppliers
  • Leading on technical oversight for the primary processing plant in the north of Scotland
  • Working with manufacturing team to implement continuous improvement of process and product
  • Supporting/ leading the factory on audits by certifying bodies and customers

Additional responsibilities:

  • Support completing customer listing forms and technical specification requests
  • Supporting the Commercial Team
  • Attendance at relevant team and cross functional meetings
  • Visiting suppliers in the UK and abroad

Key skills and requirements:

  • Degree educated or equivalent in food technology
  • Experience within food manufacturing - min. 3 years' experience in relevant role
