Responsibilities

As a Software Architect you will be:

  • Responsible for technical aspect of the products

    • Defining technology direction

    • Designing overall architecture of the system

    • Designing or reviewing vendor’s designs of critical part of the system

    • Defining coding standards, and reviewing code of critical part of the system

    • Ensuring that all non-functional requirements are met

  • Improving DevOps based environment

  • Co-operate with Product Owner, Developers, Testers

  • Researching and coding prototypes

Requirements
  • Extensive experience in software development in .NET technology stack

  • Proficiency in programming languages: C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, T-SQL

  • Knowledge of distributed enterprise systems concepts and design ( scalability, reliability, security, disaster recovery)

  • Knowledge of design patterns (messaging patterns, DDD, REST, CQRS, microservices)

  • Experience with Azure cloud

  • Experience in projects managed by Agile methodologies

  • Knowledge of Node.js and its ecosystem

  • Knowledge of one of web application framework: Angular, React, Vue

  • Basic understanding of mobile technology

  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning methods and how to apply them

The Role

We are looking for contract commercial, performance and cost auditors to join our team. If you’re successful you will work in multi-disciplinary teams undertaking client work on some major projects and contracts in both public and private sectors. In addition to the technical work, the role includes

  • Working as part of a team initially but moving to leading assignments or working independently

  • Ideally MRICS, MICE, MCIOB or similar, and project management experience is also of interest to us

  • Cost and/or contract audit experience and to be ready to extend this into commercial, schedule, performance and cost reviews, delivering reports for clients.

  • Experience in Project controls is desirable, whether project planning and scheduling, cost estimating and monitoring, change control, or risk

  • An understanding of contract management is desirable

  • Software skills in one or more of

  • Power BI - Tableau

  • Primavera - P6

  • Cost management tools, e.g. Ecosys, Prism

  • You will need to be comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as alone, and you need to be ready to take on the wider management roles, as well as the admin, involved as part of a busy team in a large organisation

Dutie and Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for

  • Leading and managing work-streams within a larger engagement;

  • Reviewing commercial matters (i.e. major deals / business cases / commercial strategies) and providing observations, recommendations and proposals to clients;

  • Leading or supporting the formation and / or review of complex third party arrangements

  • Leading and performing supplier compliance and dispute resolution activities, to investigate value leakage or identify poor performance;

  • The role is primarily client facing at a senior level in often time-pressured environments; whilst there is frequent scope to innovate, recommendations must be based upon clear commercial logic and a robust understanding of the client’s unique circumstances and issues.

Additional activities may include

  • Giving and supporting industry presentations;

  • Contributing and leading on business development activities;

  • Contributing to thought-leadership; and,

  • Co-ordinating training / preparing management information.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience of working in professional services either delivering cost reduction, commercial strategy, dealing shaping or contract review programmes ;

  • Previous experience of implementing commercial arrangements with either customer or supplier facing contracts

  • Previous experience leading or providing input in to procurement activities and negotiation/contracting strategies;

  • The role will allow the right Individuals to progress rapidly through the firm and develop a broad set of skills and experiences that are highly valued by senior executives at our clients

About the team

The Insolvency Management Team (IMT) is a part of PwC’s Business Restructuring Services (BRS). A career in the IMT will provide you with the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging corporate insolvency assignments in a wide range of sectors.

In joining, you'll be part of a team of c.35 people based in Leeds which manages all insolvency appointments taken by PwC’s partners and directors. You’ll be supporting the practice not only in delivering high quality, compliant insolvency processes but also solving complex problems and suggesting solutions to ensure that we achieve the best result for an insolvent entity’s stakeholders.

Our team interacts with other BRS teams across the country, as well as other specialists within PwC and you’ll develop strong working relationships with colleagues as you work together to deliver insolvency assignments from beginning to end.

About the role

As a Manager in the IMT, you’ll work as part of a team experienced in insolvency matters. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Day to day case management of administrations, liquidations and other corporate insolvency processes, taking responsibility from commencement to conclusion and ensuring proactive case progression

· Involvement in pre-insolvency planning matters

· Ensuring 100% compliance with statutory deadlines on cases

· Liaison with and management of internal and external stakeholders, including communications with remote-based colleagues and dealing with external lawyers agents and key creditors. Developing internal relationships with a range of colleagues both in the team and more widely

· Contributing to the management of the team, including delegating tasks and training, coaching and supervising staff

· Keeping up to date with insolvency and other relevant legislation

· Contributing to non-chargeable projects such as transformation initiatives

· Identify risk issues and ensure these are dealt with and/or escalated

The role is primarily office-based, although it requires some travel from time to time. You’ll be supported in the role by a breadth of technical resources, experienced colleagues and learning and development opportunities.

Essential skills and experience

· Deep insolvency technical knowledge and experience of managing cases

· Proven project and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple commitments

· Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating with at all levels, internally and externally

· Willingness to engage with appointees, keeping them fully informed on cases and developing a strong working relationship with them

· Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in how businesses work

· Ability to work with flexibility and agility, and lead by example, in response to the requirements of the role

· Good organisation, ability to adapt to change and confidence to challenge established practice

· Sound analytical skills, preferably with experience in using data and analytics tools

· Strong report-writing skills and excellent verbal and written English

· Commitment to continued personal development and a desire to develop and train junior members of the team

· Ability to work with flexibility and agility, and lead by example, in response to the requirements of the role

· Insolvency and accounting qualifications are desirable but not essential
