What you'll need to succeed

As cyber threats continue to diversify and grow, so too does the client’s need to develop our cyber security culture and capabilities to ensure we continue to protect the services and systems which keep London moving.

Cyber security professionals play a critical and ever-increasing role in protecting these services and systems, safeguarding our customers as they travel across the capital’s network, and ultimately helping to realise the Government’s ambition to make the UK the safest place in the world to be online and do business.

The ideal candidate would have experience working with Information Technology and be able to demonstrate their ability to rise to new challenges and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in cyber security is essential.

This role is for an Assurance and Reporting Manager therefore candidates must have strong experience undertaking this type of role, be able to undertake those responsibilities described below and demonstrate the desired skills and qualifications. Candidates who are unable to meet the responsibilities of the role will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Collating information from the compliance and assurance functions at 1st and 2nd line
  • Creating a range of engaging and targeted reports for different stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, from managing directors responsible for organisational risk to individual service and system risk owners
  • Developing and reporting on Key Risk Indicators for individual services, systems, and the organisation at large

Skills:

  • A demonstrable passion for Cyber Security
  • A detailed and proven understanding of network infrastructure, system and application architecture and associated security controls within highly complex environments
  • Experience in public cloud application hosting, mobile and web application security
  • Proven understanding of current best practise approach to security assurance and the application of security frameworks (E.g. NCSC 10 Steps to Security, CIS 20 Critical Controls, NIST, ISO27001)
  • Experience in project and development methodologies covering; architecture pattern development, requirements analysis, design review and project risk assessment
  • Planning and prioritising multiple project work streams in response to rapidly developing and changing portfolios
  • Turning business problems into optimal technical security designs, aligning user needs with systems requirements and organisational goals
  • Experience of supplier and third party risk management
  • Capable of making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how decisions have been reached and the ability to understand and resolve technical disputes across varying levels of complexity and risk
  • Highly effective written and verbal communications skills
