Your new role

You will be capable of managing multiple requirements/projects, and have strong communication skills, able to build relationships and work with multiple stakeholders. You'll have a hands-on approach and be capable of working to your own initiative.

Your new role

We are currently looking for a Project Manager (HR & Payroll Systems). The purpose of this role is to lead on the specification and implementation of a HR and payroll system, including working with the suppliers on system configuration and set up for the HR and payroll systems.

As part of your role you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the processes in HR and payroll in order to define and agree the requirements for new HR and payroll systems. You will develop process documentation across service areas relevant to HR & Payroll systems. You will be expected to matrix manage teams of across HR, Payroll, IT and MI along with third party suppliers to deliver work streams, whilst effectively managing any risks identified that may impact project delivery or outcomes.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of core HR, Performance Management, Learning and Development and Recruitment modules in relation to systems. You will have proven experience of producing business cases and monitoring project budgets.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Work with key stakeholders to define requirements for a new HR and payroll system
  • Work with the Programme Manager to develop a business case, resource and project plans.
  • Lead on change management and training activities in HR and payroll systems.
  • Define communication strategies and plans that are appropriate for the projects and audiences on an individual basis.
  • Support the procurement and onboarding of a HR and payroll system provider/consultancy
  • Work with external suppliers & consultants to establish an implementation timetable including a robust testing plan.
  • Provide managers with the HR system tools and knowledge to support their role as managers
  • Development of process documentation and improvement within the HR and across service areas relevant to HR & Payroll systems.
  • Help to define requirements for HR MI (including workforce data) and work with an MI workstream to develop corporate MI requirement
  • Ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget and agreed standards.
  • Identify and resolve any issues relating to all aspects of resourcing of the project, working with the Programme Manager and business managers as necessary
  • Effectively manage any risks identified that may impact project delivery or outcomes.
  • Matrix manage teams of across HR, Payroll, IT and MI along with third party suppliers to deliver work streams.

Experience Required

  • Previous Project Management experience (Prince II Qualified)
  • Extensive experience of Implementing HR & Payroll systems
  • Strong experience in relation to Procurement & Vendor Selection
  • Extensive Stakeholder Management skills
