We are looking to attract an IT Learning Specialist to join the busy IT Team Manchester.

The IT Learning Specialist is responsible for designing training programmes appropriate to the needs of the business as well as delivering training via a variety of methods, including classroom-based training, remote training/webinars and one-to-one desk-side or telephone assistance. This role also delivers weekly new starter inductions and scheduled training sessions on a variety of applications including Microsoft Office, case management software, document management software, customer relationship management software, digital dictation software and practice management systems.

  • Participate in an Agile based software development life cycle including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing and code reviews
  • Collaborate with the production support team for release and maintenance of the components
  • Work closely with the other developers in determining and following best development and architecture practice
  • Propose and provide feedback from experience/knowledge on architecture, design, technology choices and technology direction of the platform
  • Fully participate in requirement and design meetings for new functionality
  • Develop reference implementations and documentation for platform features
  • Moderate and review development contributions from the development community

What we require from the candidate:

  • At least 8 years software development experience in an enterprise environment
  • Strong development skills and experience with JavaScript
  • Experienced with TypeScript, CSS and HTML
  • Strong development skills and experience with the common JavaScript Libraries and other Web Technologies
  • Single Page Application development
  • Front Office development experience in any of: FX, FX Options, Interest Rates Products is desirable but not essential

Our client is an innovative, international provider of Architectural lighting solutions illuminating retail spaces, museums, offices, airports, sports stadiums, hotels, chain stores, private dwellings as well as all external environments. They specialise in providing high quality Architectural solutions to the project and retail lighting sectors.

Roles & Responsibilities:
As Technical Administrator / Estimator your duties will consist of (but not be limited to): -

  • First point of contact for incoming calls, whether they be clients, wholesalers, contractors, suppliers or sales team
  • Carrying out take-off's to be produced in conjunction with luminaire schedules to understand and confirm the drawing matches the schedule
  • Preparing detailed costing schedules in Excel, making allowance for all components required for each fitting
  • Raising accurately priced quotations for project opportunities within our accounting software and ensuring all tenders receive a quote within the tender period prescribed by clients
  • Placing all the supplier orders and sub orders required to fulfil projects received accurately and within the time restraints that the company has agreed to meet
  • Chasing deliveries and liaising with our logistics network to co-ordinate incoming and outgoing shipments


Skills & Qualifications:
We are looking for a Technical Administrator / Estimator with the following: -

  • Previous experience working within the lighting/luminaire sector is desirable although general M&E or construction experience would be considered
  • Ability to understand Technical CAD drawings would be advantageous
  • Previous estimating experience is essential
