Digital Communications Officer – User Experience (UX)

Established in 1997, ARB is the statutory regulator of architects in the UK, here to protect the public and maintain trust in the profession. 

We maintain the Architect Register, a tool anyone can use to confirm whether someone is a UK architect.  We also set the UK standards required to join the Register and ensure only appropriate applicants from the UK and overseas are admitted.  We set and enforce the professional standards expected of UK architects and take action against those who call themselves an architect illegally.  We endeavour to deliver our duties with consistency, integrity, objectivity, openness and transparency.

Your role will be to ensure our online content is presented and managed in an effective and consistent way. You will analyse user behaviour and performance data to propose structural and design improvements, overseeing the implementation of approved ideas.

Our successful candidate will have experience in website development and project management. You will be fluent in modern web technologies and be able to demonstrate your experience with the principles of user-centred design. With highly developed interpersonal skills and an excellent attention to detail, you will be a team player with the ability to work on your own initiative and deliver work to deadlines. Experience of the regulatory sector is desirable, but not essential.

In return, we offer 27 days’ holiday a year, generous pension arrangements, private health care and an interest-free annual season ticket loan.

The successful candidate will support assigned projects/initiatives ensuring delivery of projects to time, cost and quality and that can demonstrate a return on investment. We are seeking a proactive person who can formulate and deliver a database strategy consistent with the requirements of business objectives.

  • As the data technology landscape continually changes, keep abreast of evolving trends, solutions and principles; making recommendations for improvement to data infrastructure where relevant as to how MPS could utilise these.
  • Undertaking other duties and tasks that from time to time may be allocated to the role holder that are appropriate to the level or role.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Extensive experience of enterprise database design, strategy and architecture
  • Working in a fast-paced team based environment
  • Significant experience of  working with SQL Server in a production environment
  • Working in a change-controlled environment
  • Experience of delivering technical projects from design to implementation
  • Performance tuning and optimisation using monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience of T-SQL development
