The Opportunity

The candidate will join Risk as a Service, a leading entrepreneurial team, as a Front End Software Engineer and be responsible for developing one of its new flagship client-facing products. The product delivers a best-in-class real time risk analytics and trade management via multiple delivery channels, including web and mobile.

 

The candidate will work in an agile environment and partner with other engineers, product managers, and UX teams.  Candidates do not necessarily need banking experience but must be highly motivated, with a track record of success. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of web technologies used to build web applications using HTML5/JavaScript/TypeScript. Any experience with other languages or full-stack knowledge is a plus.


This is a technical role, and the candidate would also be driving the design of our components, mentoring other members and actively contributing to the development of features. Experience is expected in analysis/design, Agile methodologies, application and SDK development, optimization and performance tuning – plus working with business analysts, UX, testers as well as internal and external clients. The working environment is competitive and demanding but one where creativity and problem solving skills are rewarded

Skills and Experience

 

The successful candidate should have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent working experience.

 

Following technical skills are important:

-          ReactJS, HTML5 / CSS3, and related tooling and technologies

-          JavaScript, TypeScript; understanding of transpilation, BOM, DOM, and Virtual DOM

-          Async programming; Promises; WebComponents; Redux; RxJS

-          Git, GitLab/Bitbucket, or related version control systems; working in CI/CD environments

-          Node (server side and tooling); Selenium; Jenkins; Jest

 

Additionally, understanding of/experience with following is highly beneficial:

-          Data visualization (D3, HighCharts)

-          Data Grids (AG Grid)

-          Advanced React design patterns; data binding; web sockets. WASM

 Our Production Support team are looking for a motivated and inquisitive individual to join our London team providing support to JPMorgan Traders in the Commodities, FX and Emerging Markets businesses. You will primarily be supporting our Athena platform, as well as associated trading and risk management applications used by the trading desks. Athena is JPMorgan's cross-market risk management and trading system that provides functionality for traders, sales people and operations staff globally, with a C++core for speed and predominantly Python for its flexibility.


You will also work in partnership with our internal Technology Developers to help deliver high quality software systems with a focus on stability, reliability and performance. We have access to the Athena codebase we are supporting, so can look at making improvements on an ongoing basis.


The role will be based in EMEA and you will be part of a Global 24 x 7 follow the sun team based in multiple other locations.

  • Experience with continuous delivery and deployment.

Controls, Legal & Regulatory Technology is seeking a senior applications lead to lead manage major Regulatory Engagement platforms, and to drive the execution of the transformation strategy as it pertains to these and other platforms with Controls, Legal & Regulatory Technology.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee agile feature teams delivering on business needs of Regulatory Engagement, while aligning with overall Global Technology engineering strategy and the evolution towards a continuous-delivery model based on test-driven development, automated deployments, and internal and external cloud platforms
  • Serve as a change agent to rapidly adopt the DevOps Systems Reliability Engineer model that is being rolled out across Corporate Technology.
  • Collaborate directly with stakeholders to solve technology related problems, prioritize issues, and transform the end user experience based on user-centric design practices
  • Participate in the creation of, and lead the execution of the application transformation strategy.  This involves helping to properly factor business capabilities into microservices, and advise on how they should be bounded and linked across applications which serve various business use cases, maximizing component reuse, improving user experience and shortening time to market.
  • Ensure proper resourcing and resource utilization to adhere to program delivery milestones

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in managing multiple application development teams with a proven track record of deliveries against the plan and on budget.
  • Experience in user-centric design, with a proven track record of successful results
  • Experience in agile transformation initiatives at scale
  • Proven track record in software modernization
  • Deep understanding of technology, architecture, design patterns and performance engineering
  • Experience working as a delivery manager, managing technical program portfolio reporting and program planning management functions in a Financial Services setting
