Job Overview:Proact MCS is a leading provider of managed virtualisation and storage solutions in a number of Data Centres in the UK and western Europe. We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer to join our team delivering a high quality data communication infrastructure that underpins our overall service delivery. This position requires experience with Cisco or Juniper technologies, and working in a busy support environment. A minimum of a CCNA qualification is required and at least one years hands on experience across routing, switching and firewall technologies or a relevant degree in Computer Networks or Cyber Security and Networking.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Investigating, analysing and resolving network incidents and problems.

  • Installation and configuration of new switches and firewalls.

  • Monitoring and management of network performance.

  • Engaging in projects to provide network related input.

  • Participate in out-of-hours rota.

Essential Experience:

  • Current Cisco CCNA qualification or equivalent.

  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst Switches and ASA firewalls, including IPSec VPNs, Or Experience with JunOS for Juniper switches and SRX firewalls.

  • A solid understanding of layer 2 and 3 routing, including dynamic routing protocols (such as OSPF and BGP).

  • An awareness of data centre security standards and modern cyber threats.

Data Scientist

A Data Scientist is required for a hugely successful business based in Aberdeen. The company are a global outfit who work alongside some of the biggest names in the industry on a daily basis.

This role is an initial 6 month fixed term contract for a professional who is looking to get their foot in the door in a multi-national business and gain vital industry experience. You will be reporting directly to the Data Solutions & Delivery manager as this is a vital position for the business.

Working at the heart of the IT department, you will be seen as the go to person regarding data related and technical projects. The main aspect of the role is in relation to building products and solutions regarding quality control, data pipelines and data modelling, however you will also be providing significant inputs across the entire spectrum including data mining, dashboard development and applying machine learning algorithms.

  • Management and leadership of the end point administrators, including coaching and development of platform administrators

Your professional experience
