They are currently looking for a Graduate Software and Automation Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining efficient operation of the Site Automation (Industrial).
Ensuring that staff are fully trained and conversant in all current and future software automation. To set up and manage control of site software and automation for area of responsibility, this includes calibration of instrumentation and all Process PLC’s and shared responsibility for Packing PLC’s. You will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- Be first contact for ALL out of hour’s issues regarding GSI, PLC software problems.
- To provide support for the Maintenance Manager
- To ensure that the site has a robust, reliable operating platform and that adequate procedures and training are in place to recover from any potential failures.
- Ensure effective handover of work and communications between shifts, assessing the situation and if required stay to resolve issues to a satisfactory conclusion
- Ensure all relevant work records are completed and resulting actions successfully completed.
- Work with departmental leaders to ensure all work is completed in a manner that minimises downtime and impact on site production.
- Work with external bodies to improve the reliability and effectiveness of plant equipment
- Communicate clearly to all relevant staff on changes, including change control and roll back plan documentation.
- Manage working areas keeping them clean and tidy at all times.
- Take a common sense approach when identifying if there is a short fall of Process Engineering on site therefore cover and support is required.
- To support site engineering teams in monitoring site processing so as to identify potential savings and advise on the efficient use of the plant
- Provide innovation friendly answers to standing site issues
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will need the following:
- Part of fully qualified electrical or multi skilled engineer of city and guilds level ideally HNC or equivalent.
- Ideally some understanding of Dairy Process Equipment.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and legislation requirements.
- Ideally some fault fault finding and route cause analysis skills
- Ideally some experience of working in a FMCG environment
- Any supervisory experience would be beneficial - not essential
- Comfortable in autonomous decision making and team working
