Are you an experienced Application Support Analyst / Programmer looking for work for a highly respected Housing Association based in Plymouth?

You will be responsible for supporting, configuring, developing and maintaining the business applications portfolio. The key focus of this role will be developing and maintaining the integration between the core business systems

Key areas will be Developing, maintaining and administering all systems, customising applications and their interfaces (primarily Northgate), managing and maintaining all tools, interfaces and platforms and ensuring the integrity and security of data being transferred between applications and with external organisations.

You should have experience of working in an IT environment working with and supporting multiple applications, an understanding of the exposure to the full Software Development Life Cycle, Knowledge of complex integrated IT business systems architecture, SQL skills and a knowledge and understanding of IT security

In return, they offer a generous salary of £33,272 to £35,852 per annum depending on experience, 25 days holiday, rising to a maximum of 30, good pension scheme, an out of City centre location in modernised offices with a free Gym on-site and access to a benefits scheme. A Service Desk Analyst/Project Administrator is required to join a small but established project team to work on an external Client-facing Service Desk and provide support to a number of Project Administration activities. Core responsibilities are as follows: Answer in-bound telephone calls and monitor emails sent to the Service Desk by the Client, log system incidents, and delegate incidents to the technical support team for resolution. Proactively review progress on incident resolution, chase client and subcontractors for updates, and provide progress updates to the client where necessary. Monitor incidents to ensure closure within contracted Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets. Co-ordinate shipping of spare parts to support incident resolution as necessary.
Are you confident with a professional telephone manner, a competent written communicator (for writing formal reports, meeting minutes, emails to Clients), with an ability to use MS Excel and Word to a business level (formatting for formal reporting purposes, writing basic formulae etc), numerate (ability to perform basic statistical analysis of data), the ability to work with a technical team (delegating incident resolution activities and chasing them for timely updates/closure), highly organised (e.g. ability to coordinate meeting logistics and maintain excellent record keeping).

Service Desk Manager required to join a progressive and growing company from their head office based in Winchester.

The role of Service Desk Manager is to provide day to day supervision for the Service Desk Team which provides a first point of contact to all the internal IT users. This is a customer focused culture, with emphasis on ownership of incidents and requests within the Service Desk team. You will be working throughout the full lifecycle as well from attending support review meetings, staff scheduling, weekly reviews, management of the staff including evaluations, promotions and disciplinary through to the overall planning, directing and reporting of the department as a whole.

The correct candidate for the Service Desk Manager position will have at least three years working within a similar environment or have managed technical teams previously. You will have:

  • Consistently worked within an ITIL environment and preferably hold an ITIL certification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Come from a technical background
  • Experience of the creation and upkeep of SLA's and KPI's
  • Excellent team management experience
