About Run An Empire
Run An Empire is a location based mobile game that encourages people to get active. Players capture territory in the real world by moving through it - whether cycling, running or walking. They are challenged to build the greatest empire in their neighbourhood and lead their people from the dawn of time into the space age. The current iteration has been live in soft launch since October 2019 and is showing positive trends in early retention and conversion. 

Background on the Role
We’re hiring for someone excited about architecting a game server for growth. You will be working on all aspects of our backend with a focus on delivering new features. The game client is written in Unity on top of an AWS Lambda built in Node.js.  Ideally you are experienced with AWS, Node.js and familiar with Unity development.

Core Activities 

• Working with the product and game design team to build new features.
• Maintaining and developing our serverless backend system.
• Implementing and maintaining partner services such as ad networks, analytics and fitness app integrations. 
• Writing client code in C# to integrate with the backend.
• Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling the application to support load changes.
• Ensuring a high level of code quality.

 Desired Skills

• AWS (RDS, Lambda, API Gateway) and the Serverless framework.
• An understanding of mobile development, ideally using Unity3D.
• Experienced with Node.js.
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Some knowledge of  MySQL or other flavours of SQL.
• Experience of having worked in an SCRUM team or agile environment

My Client, a rapidly expanding leader in communications services for IoT & M2M, is currently looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual to identify, recruit and develop an ecosystem of partner and alliance relationships across EMEA. This strategically integral role will engage and drive channel activities through System Integrators and Partners to increase revenues and broaden the reach of the organisation.  

Responsibilities

• Identifying and recruiting select partners
• Managing Key Alliance relationships on a day to day basis
• Partner business planning including certification, target setting and business development activities and monitoring progress against plan with QBR’s
• Hit and exceed targets with Channel partner organisations

This role offers a wide variety of challenges to solve and explore related to innovative slot game-play concepts and finding creative ways to meet the demands of players around the globe.

Job Description:

Initially the tester will typically work under the mentorship of a senior tester, testing gaming software to ensure it meets required customer, jurisdictional and functional specifications and complies with regulatory requirements, with an expectation to become independent.  To Develop and execute test plans and test scripts for game software. Assist in defining test standards. Perform scripted, exploratory, regression, black box testing. Investigate production issues. Review product documentation.  Document test methods and findings.  Perform troubleshooting and research into defects and communicate to game team.

What you will be doing:

• Test and prove that the software meets functional, system and jurisdictional requirements.
• Prepare test plans, test cases and test scripts.
• Work closely with software developers and producers.
• Detect bug issues.
• Prepare file defect reports and report test progress.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Investigate production issues.
• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Ideally, your skills will include:

• Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, or equivalent commercial working experience.
