Job Title – Team Leader
Location – Northampton
Shifts pattern to cover Mon -Sat 8am-10pm and Sun -9am - 6pm
Team Leaders support the Head of Underwriting and Underwriting Operations Manager in the operational running of the department, leading teams to ensure that the level of service provided by Operational teams supports Barclays brand and reputational strength. Team Leaders ensure that teams across Lending Operations sites and their direct reports are appropriately and consistently lead, managed and developed to achieve their objectives including defined productivity and quality standards and lead all aspects of the colleague life cycle and process management.
Barclays is expected to meet the highest regulatory standards, including demonstrating to the FCA that fair customer outcomes are consistently delivered. The post holder will support this aim by ensuring clients and customers are provided with clear and correct information and a high quality of service is delivered.
What will you be doing?
•Decision making and problem solving in a timely manner using various system applications under the guidance of Manual Underwriting Policy.
•Providing optimum levels of customer/client service by demonstrating Barclays values and through effective client and customer communications on a written and verbal basis.
•Managing own time and productivity effectively to meet strict service requirements in a rapid and fast paced environment.
•Carry out affordability checks with customers to ensure applications are in line with our responsible lending criteria and within regulatory guidelines.
•Work with other areas of the Business to ensure the correct outcome for customers.
•Communicate with customer and clients regarding applications, providing support and advice to ensure all relevant customer information is captured and ensure our clients are correctly advised on decisions.
•Identify, understand and resolve customer and clients’ complaints at first point of contact and within regulatory guidelines.
What we’re looking for:
•Financial Services Industry knowledge
•People leadership and coaching experience in a fast paced operational role
•High standard of written and verbal communication skills
Skills that will help you in the role:
•Demonstrable skills in customer and client relationship management
•A broad understanding of Credit/Fraud Underwriting and applicable legislative and regulatory requirements
•A strong background in stakeholder and relationship management, ideally in both B2B and B2C environments
•Experience of direct, remote and matrix management
Where will you be working?
This role will be based in our Northampton office; based in Brackmills Industrial estate, with good links to public transport.
