Key Requirements

  • Proven portfolio and financial management experience, gained in a data/analytics environment
  • Solid understanding of Big Data and Business Intelligence platforms and tools
  • A successful track record working with technical teams including Infrastructure, Development and Test teams to deliver change at an enterprise level
  • In depth understanding of data principles e.g. different life cycle models, structured methodologies, coding standards, their importance and the benefits they bring
  • Experienced in management and influencing in a matrix organisation
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience of management in an agile environment working with architecture, development and testing teams and with a sound understanding of SDLC
  • Ability to understand and challenge the architecture and implementation when needed
  • A good knowledge and understanding of total cost of ownership of IT assets and functions and the ability to present and manage trade-offs

Global cellular connectivity business is looking for a Network Engineer to join their existing support team. This is an opportunity to explore the world of IOT (Internet of Things) while providing first class support and problem solving to clients.

 

Some of what you will be doing:

  • Determining and understanding customer problems and resolving those problems, or escalating to a higher level of support;
  • Communicating with existing customers and potential new customers over email and telephone.
  • Providing an administrative function for service request management;
  • Logging and managing all incident, service and access requests via phone or email;
  • Logging and managing all internal event requests;
  • Providing first-line investigation and diagnosis;
  • Resolving incidents and service requests;
  • Occasional ad-hoc project work assigned by the Service Desk Manager.

A bit about you:

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in technology ideally around the growing cellular IoT market, and the following skills/experience:

  • The ability to resolve problems, understand complex situations and most importantly a desire to deliver a high level of service;
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written and verbal format is essential;
  • A good understanding of computers, networking and a level of software development;
  • The ability to understand and articulate computer networking, IP addressing, Ethernet protocols is essential.

At times work maybe remote to the normal place of work so a willingness to travel at reasonable short notice is expected.

  • As the IT Support Helpdesk Manager, you will be responsible for the team that provides the first point of contact for customers. This will include everything from dealing with customer queries through to resolving and advising on technical problems related to our client’s software solutions.
  • Due to the small and highly integrated nature of the support team, you will be the conduit for all other parts of the business from the software projects team, to the technical team and the development team.

         Ideally, your skills will include:

  •      Fluent/native in 1 of 4 different languages other than English.
  •      Excellent written and spoken English.
  •      Ability to work on own initiative
  •      Previous experience of supporting customers or customer service roles
  •      Previous experience in managing a team
