What you'll do In this key role, you'll be analysing and understanding the business strategy and other architectures to identify the capabilities required, and then supporting over the long term, translating these into architecture outcomes.
You'll be defining and communicating the infrastructure architecture, including current, resultant and target states for your assigned scope, making sure the architecture links to, and is informed by, our overall strategy and other architectures, to produce the architecture outcomes.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
- Defining, creating and maintaining architecture models, using the ArchiMate modelling language, roadmaps and outcomes
- Covering hardware, middleware, infrastructure patterns, automated provisioning, configuration and decommissioning, infrastructure as code, containerisation and other emergent techniques such as autonomic computing design
- Influencing the development of strategies and architectures across the bank, identifying transformational opportunities for the business and technology areas associated with both new and existing technologies
- Defining major components of our target infrastructure architecture and roadmap, making sure that these support the strategic aims and those of its franchises and functions
The skills you'll need We're looking for someone with experience of defining business or application architectures and roadmaps for complex enterprises, paired with a background of working with business solution vendors, technology vendors and products within the market.
You'll also bring:
- Knowledge of systems development change lifecycles, best practices and approaches
- Experience of developing, syndicating and communicating architectures, designs and proposals for action
- A good understanding of Agile and contemporary methodologies, with experience of working in Agile teams
- Knowledge of industry architecture frameworks, including TOGAF and ArchiMate
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, including management level
- Good collaboration and stakeholder management skills
