  • Brand new opening in the business driven by expansion to overseas markets
  • Opportunity to set technical direction in a high-growth, innovative and multiple award-winning Fin-tech organisation whose product effectively helps the masses
  • Work with some truly inspirational individuals who are linked to the company in the UK and overseas

A highly ambitious tech fin-tech scale-up based in Bristol who are expanding into the US in 2020 are looking for an inspirational Chief Technology Officer to spearhead their technical operations.

They have a high calibre, stable team of 21 based in Bristol with over a third of them being engineering focused. Working closely with the CEO and Lead Developer you will take the helm of the technical team getting under the bonnet of processes and approach before embarking on a programme to scale the business ready to cope with the expansion of the product offering into the US market.

Experience they are looking for:

  • The ideal person will have 'been there and done it' - as part of the executive management team (Head of Tech / CTO / Head of Engineering) you will have taken a start-up/scale-up / SME on a growth path and won't be nervous at the prospect of scaling to become a multi-national.
  • Naturally any experience in the Fin-tech or Financial Services space will help as you'll likely have a better understanding of security, regulation and data control within the FS space.
  • You'll know how to hire, inspire and motivate a team tapping into what actually drives people to perform at their best
  • You will have dealt with growing pains in the past and will know how to get through them and hacks to make things work
  • You'll be pragmatic - they don't want someone who says "this can't be done" but rather focuses on what can be done
  • A development background is required (given the nature of the work someone whose experience is infrastructure centric probably won't be quite right)
  • Naturally you'll have your finger on the pulse in respect of trends within development, cutting edge tooling and impactful methodologies

What you'll do (in a nutshell):

You'll set, and lead the technical vision, road-map and architecture for the organisation, growing and cultivating the technical team. You'll make key decisions attributing to the expansion into the US and other countries. You'll be the technical representative on the board, managing expectations of key stakeholders. You'll play a major part in helping this organisation scale.

What you'll get in return:

A generous package is on offer for the right person, salary to £120k (negotiable), equity, pension, health-care, generous holiday allowance. This aside, as a new opening within the organisation you'll have the autonomy to do things you own way, setting tech direction, creating a culture and taking the helm of an already highly successful, revered fin-tech organisation.

If you are a talented CTO looking for a new challenge, apply now for consideration.
