About the Role:
The IT Data Protection Specialist will be responsible for identifying and assessing data risks, measuring policy and procedure compliance, creating gap analysis and implementing IT and Information Security controls.
We are seeking a strong, independent data focused person who has excellent communication and organizational skills and who can work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Execute information security assessment by assessing and benchmarking current business processes & practices against internal/external policies and procedures and current legislation to identify any compliance gaps.
- Develop gap analysis / action plan to address any compliance gaps identified within information security assessment.
- Co-ordinate and manage activities within action plan and any associated training.
- Review and collate data collaboration, retention and security requirements from stakeholders across the site.
- Determine most appropriate IT tools and systems to be utilized when collaborating, storing and securing data and educate stakeholders accordingly.
- Communicate with business functions and stakeholders where applicable on current data protection legislation and company policies and practices eg GDPR.
- Develop robust and flexible business processes for managing and securing data across the site.
- Support and participate in site audits.
- Participate and provide status updates in weekly meetings
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience supporting IT applications
- Good knowledge of GDPR and data protection
- Experience in Sharepoint Online and cloud-based collaboration solutions
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required, with proven ability to communicate and build relationships cross-functionally.
