Job Title: Senior Java Developer
Location: Radbroke, Knutsford


Barclays UK Tech function, has a Clearing Hub division which is the corner stone of clearing by image. This is an initiative to allow images of cheques to be a legal instrument for paying people. This removes the need for paper to be transported by secure vehicles on the road between branches and the central clearing centre. A further benefit in using mobile image capture is to allow customers a new channel for recording cheque payments.


As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to the mobile image clearing project by writing code to specification for multiple applications / products during the build phase of the SDLC. You will also be seen as a lead in this function, so having good teamwork skills and an eye for mentorship would be brilliant.


What will you be doing?


• Write and test code thoroughly and liaise with business users to ensure delivery is fit fur purpose
• Develop technical understanding of a component or sub-component within an application /product, providing support for technical queries, live incidents and problems
• Ensure technical integrity and quality of application is maintained across their lifetime
• Responsible for your own work right through from deployment to customer acceptance
• Help impact assess business requested change to the Clearing Hub Platform
• Provide technical guidance and support to multiple offshore technical delivery teams on the projects.


What we’re looking for:


• Proven track record coding in Java
• Exposure coding in Oracle PL-SQL
• Jira / Confluence or BitBucket (or other code repository technologies) exposure
• Architecture knowledge with Micro Services.

Job Title Cryptography Service Engineer
Location Knutsford


Cryptography services protect the integrity and confidentiality of key data within the firm, protecting £500bn of transactions daily.  IIP securely manages the cryptographic keys, digital certificates, hardware security modules and complex cryptography services that underpin the majority of Barclays IT processes, globally.


The Cryptographic Service Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of existing (as well as pipeline) application cryptographic services, such as Central Authentication Service, CertificateNOW, SSH Universal Key Manager, PKI platforms, HSM (standalone and farm) and Cloud based crypto services. The role will also include Data Analysis associated with the services and service / supplier management.


What will you be doing?


Providing support on Cryptography options to IIP customer’s whist ensuring adherence to standards and controls
Driving robust acceptance policy for all RTB activities requiring crypto solutions
Ensuring that any and all changes to a service are formally risk assessed prior to implementation and appropriate parties consulted and notified on impact of any changes
Ensuring all changes are appropriately tested prior to implementation
Ensuring all change management and release management processes that are part of Group governance are adhered to in the course of any changes to the service
Looking for ways to improve the service and use projects and BAU team to implement improvements and enhancements
Following through on root cause analysis and post incident resolution
Ensuring all service run books, service request forms, and other required service documentation is reviewed and kept up to date


What we’re looking for:


Experience of working with Hardware Security Modules (HSM’s)
Experience of working with ‘Cloud’ security solutions
Understanding of Application, Server and Network security including technical support

Market Risk Technology is a cross-asset group recently created within the Investment Bank, comprised of over 2,000 people in 15 countries. What will you be doing?

As a Mobile Gateway Java Developer, you’ll be working on the Leading Pingit Mobile App as part of the Mobile Payments team building new features, working collaboratively alongside Solution architects, technical designers, and Proposition Managers.


What will you be doing?


Becoming an acknowledged expert in their technical field with significant experience of the techniques and tools being used across the development lifecycle
Working across multiple phases of software development within a project as team leader or dealing with the most technically challenging assignments
Coding and unit testing the most complex software components for new or enhanced IT systems to a high level of quality
Building an expert level awareness of relevant software design techniques, development tools and processes
Collaborating with other Software Developers working in the Scrum model
Creating and amending complex programmes in accordance with the design, following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards


What we’re looking for:


Experience of delivering code using Java either within the working environment or internship/placement 
Has a passion to learn and further skill set in development


Skills that will help you in the role:


Good Knowledge of the “Devops” tools – Jenkins and Nexus would be advantageous
