The position of Service Desk Analyst is responsible for providing remote and on-site support of customers’ IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Service Desk Team Leader, you form part of a growing team of highly skilled Service Desk Analysts that work closely with the customers to ensure their ICT Infrastructure operates at the optimum capacity and with minimum disruption to service.

Responsibilities;

  • Undertaking or participating in site and equipment Surveys of new and existing customers, in order to ensure accurate data is captured to enable support
  • Providing assistance to colleagues and customers by providing technical on-site support and handling escalated tickets where required
  • Logging new tickets and updating existing tickets in the Service Desk Ticket Management system when required
  • Providing regular email, telephone and face to face updates to customers, advising on progress of tickets and confirming closures
  • Responding to escalated tickets from other support tiers
  • Prioritizing the troubleshooting processes and properly managing time in order to achieve SLAs

Performing 1st Line diagnosis and activities on customer’s end user devices and received services (PCs, printers, Blackberries, broadband, telephony) to include (but not limited to):

  • Verifying physical layer issues
  • Resolving username and password issues and resets
  • Uninstalling/reinstalling basic standard software applications
  • Verifying proper hardware and software set up
  • Assisting customers with guidance on MS Windows, MS Office and simple application menus
  • Performing computer virus scans and spyware scans
  • Installing Windows Updates and Service Packs on PCs
  • Building new PCs for customers to agreed build standards and specifications and installing the same on-site
  • Installing other end other devices on site as required e.g. modems and pass through switches and performing small network patching activities and installing software on end user devices e.g. MS Office
  • Providing information to customers to setup email on smartphone
  • Notifying customers about planned and unplanned outages
  • Maintaining a knowledge base by writing technical work instructions for straightforward end user technical issues that are handled by the 1st Line Support tier
  • Following company policies, procedures and work instructions

Required Skills;

  • Previous experience working in a Service Desk/ 1st Line Analyst capacity with an unerstanding of ITIL
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN technologies including, basic switching and routing, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IP Addressing, VPN, Wireless, etc
  • Strong ability to solve and troubleshoot problems remotely and on-site
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • High organised and disciplined with an excellent work ethic
  • Positive attitude and ability to be versatile and adaptable in changing environments
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise workload
  • Personable and have the ability to make people feel at ease and instill confidence in your ability to resolve the issue
  • Presentable, punctual and well mannered( Many of our customers are based in flagship buildings in and around London.)
  • A clean driving licence is essential for this role as you may be requested to attend a supported site outside the M25

Our client have received a significant investment for the construction and development of their new facility in the North of Bristol, and this is an opportunity to join them as their IT manager.  This is a new role that will be key in the setup of the IT infrastructure for the facility to open in early 2021.  You’ll finalise the specification and systems for the commissioning of the whole infrastructure, then implement the processes for the maintenance and development of the systems going forward.

We are Looking for a POWER BI DEVELOPER to join a new project team. The Council is in the process of commissioning an Enterprise Resource System (ERP) including financial system. This post is to work in a team alongside Finance, Intelligence and the Project Management Office to enable delivery of a model to enable migration of finance data into a new ERP system. The project team will use Power BI to enable data model development and building on existing developments to optimise the reporting of the Council's financial data. Project Timescale 2-3 months.

In this role you will:

• Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
• Develop a data model to enable effective migration of finance data into a new ERP system,
to enable understanding of desired future financial data structure develop and create a suite of automated financial reports using Power BI which will be used to deliver corporate financing decisions.
• Connect to and use data from a variety of data sources including our Social Services, Financials (ContrOCC), our ERP System (Oracle 1Business), and other sources such as Excel, performing all transformations using Power BI query and Data Flows
• Create and own effective Power BI Data modelling in line with best practice
• Develop a report-based governance and documentation sustainability
• Perform basic data science duties, working with our Finance Team to improve understanding of the Council's financial data
• Utilise the navigation features in Power BI (e.g. bookmarks, drill-through) to guide readers through a compelling data-driven story

Perfect candidate will be:

• Experienced Power BI developer
• Ability to develop data models in Power BI that enable effective reporting and visualisation
• Experience of delivering data solutions in technically complex environments
• Experience of automating process and data flows
• Knowledge and experience of SQL and Power Apps
• Effective communication skills to enable working in a multifunction team
• Experience in financial data reporting is desirable
